Subject: Wish List - Opera Handy Menu
Please help me to improve Opera Handy Menu. ;-)

Suggested by Engelium:
1. open the Image Background like in FF - Delayed
2. Go to URL (or web adress) in a new page (background) - Available in v5.0

Suggested by Phil:
open a page in Google's cache - To Do

Suggested by Akovia:
1. download all the images from a page at one time - To Do
2. buttons for different link levels - To Do
3. selectable link list - To Do
4. a Linux version (recruit someone to maintain the menus for certain popular distros) - To Do

Ideas from myself:
1. Save the whole page as an image - To Do
2. find a way to copy the title of a page easily - To Do
3. add DOM Snapshot and Developer Console - Available in v5.2
4. find an efficient way to switch proxy - To Do

Thank you to all of you!

Hi

this is my small wish list for the best Opera menu of the world :-D

- In the Page options why don't you add an item to open the Image Background like in FF ? ..... many users want it and this will be a great feature ;-)

- Others small additions: The addition of Go to URL (or web adress) in a new page and Go to URL (or web adress) in a new page (background) after the Go to Web Adress item of the [Hotclick Popup Menu]

Item, Go to URL= copy & new page & go to page, "%c"
Item, Go to URL (background)= copy & new page & go to page, "%c" & switch to previous page

- "Fix" : The bugmenot feature now use the same page... this is a bit unconfortable to use.... I think that it should use a new page ;-)

Tnx a lot and please consider my suggestions :-)

Subject: Wish list
Hi,
First let me say how much I love your tool/program/menu. It is wonderful and easy to use. I wasn't sure I could think of anything else it needed but I did come up with a couple things.

1. Not sure of how to implement it but I've always wanted a way to download all the images from a page at one time. For instance, a button to download every jpg, png, gif, etc on current page and another button to go up to one level deep. I do alot of graphics work for wallpapers and such and seem like I end up spending a lot of time to download pics 1 at a time from a long list that are only 1 link deep. Would be even cooler to be able to select links like you would select files from a file manager with holding down the <CTL> key and say download. In any case I realize this is probably beyond the scope of what you are trying to accomplish, but then again this is a *Wish List*

2. It would also be nice if there was a Linux version with the links to the most common apps for the "My Apps" menu. It of course would be fantastic if there were even more fine tuned per Distro. Luckily I was able to download some that were already modified for Ubuntu by a kind soul on the Ubuntu forums or I might not have bothered. Maybe you could recruit some people willing to maintain the menus for certain popular distros. Just a thought.

Regardless if it never gets updated again, it will always be a part of my Opera install from here on out. Thanks for the hard work!

Hello, Phil.

You're welcome!

I'm really sorry for my late reply.

This would be a nice feature. :)

It will be available in the next release.

Hi, Akovia.

You're welcome! I'm so glad you like it! :-)

1. A lot of download managers have this feature. They can do batch downloads with asterisk wildcard. They can set different link levels and select the needed links as you described. But as you mentioned, it would be cool if Opera has this feature built in. I'll try to find a way to achieve our goal. ;-)

2. A Linux specific version is hoped to release before Ubuntu 8.04 Final. I have Ubuntu 7.10 installed on my desktop. I'll try to make it as handy as the Windows version. :-D

I promise it will get updated in the future. Thank you very much for your kind words!! :-p

PS: Sorry to merge your post into this thread.

Best wishes,

ZDYX

Hi ZDYX!

Thanks for your answer. I'm looking forward to use the new menu :-D
Maybe you can include some customizations like in the Opera AC Mod.
It's a russian Opera Mod with many features. Unfortunately it has only russian support, but after installation it's possible to set the language to English.
Take a look at it, it has many useful features. Maybe you can include some or even better, make a own custom mod of Opera ;-)

Kind regards

Hello!

I suggested earlier the option with Google Cache.
Now I've found the addin CacheIt! for Firefox.
It can use Coral CDN, Google Cache, DOT Cache, The Way-Back Machine.
Maybe you could add these, too.

Hi :-)

How about an update for the latest build of kestrel and the new Dragonfly? :-)

And why don't you merge the webdev menu with the features of the Debug menu released by Dragonfly blog?

bye :-D
